The Upper East Regional Vetting Committee of NDC has begins it’s vetting of aspirants seeking to occupy the offices of the various Municipals and Districts in the Region. This process will enhance credibility and qualified persons to be selected by the Vetting Committee for the President,H.E John Dramani Mahama to nominate a preferred candidate, also to ensure proper scrutiny of aspirants.

In an interview with the Regional Communication Director of the NDC, Mr.Abdallah Jonathan,stated that about 158 individuals aspired to contest the MMDCEs offices in the Region,noting that, about 80% of the aspirants are within the youth brackets, he believes His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has the Youth at heart and trust that,the young aspirants has the highest chance in the contest.

Mr. Abdallah further highlighted the woman participation in the Ghana’s democracy, indicated only few women aspired for the contest, but believe the number might increase.

Speaking to some of the aspirants,Mr. George Alabira Adamu explained that,he has worked with most of the development partners in the areas of health,agric, education, sanitation etc when given the nod, it will help him serve the people of Tempane in different capacitties to bring development to their door steps.

Some aspirants also shared their expectations on why they should be given the opportunity to serve their people on the capacity as MMDCEs in their various District.
