Hon. Onyina-Acheampong Pledges to Transform Kwabre East Constituency
The Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Akwasi Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong, has reiterated his strong commitment to driving significant development in his constituency.
The MP has outlined a comprehensive vision for transforming Kwabre East, with a focus on key areas aimed at improving the lives of residents.
A major priority for the MP is the enhancement of infrastructure in the area. This includes the completion of the Mampoteng Market, the construction of two AstroTurf stadiums, the building of bridges, and the development of public transportation systems to improve connectivity and accessibility within the constituency.
In an interview with ExpressNewsGhana, Hon. Gyamfi emphasized the need for better educational facilities and the establishment of a public university in the region.
Renovating dilapidated schools, providing essential learning materials, and promoting vocational training programs are all part of his plan to elevate the standard of education in Kwabre East.
The MP is also focused on driving economic growth by supporting local businesses and encouraging the establishment of financial institutions to stimulate commercial activity. He believes that promoting tourism, particularly through cultural celebrations like Kente festivals, will help highlight the area’s rich heritage and boost the local economy.
Addressing youth unemployment is another key concern for Hon. Gyamfi, who is committed to creating job opportunities and offering skills training to young people in the constituency.

Through these initiatives, he aims to equip the youth with the tools they need to succeed in the workforce.

To harness the economic potentials due to the large population of the constituency, Hon Gyamfi believed a strong financial empowerment through microfinance programs, entrepreneurship training, and the promotion of local tourism are central to his plan to stimulate economic growth in Kwabre East.
The MP is committed to fostering youth engagement through sports and recreational activities to encourage discipline and teamwork among the younger generation.

The population of Kwabre East Constituency which is also a Municipality according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 296,814 with 143,684 males 47.7% and 153,130 females 52.3%.
The Constituency shares boundaries with Sekyere South District, to the north , Kumasi Metropolitan Area, to the south, Ejisu Municipal, to the southeast, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal, to the west, Offinso Municipal, to the northwest, Old Tafo Municipality, to the south, Asokore Mampong to the southeast and Afigya Kwabre South to the west.
