Rotaract Club of Accra Agri-eco Donates Educational Materials to Kwae Jamestown Presbyterian Basic School
In line with Rotaract’s vision of impacting lives and fostering community development, the Rotaract Club of Accra Agri-eco on the 22nd of February collaborated with the Interact Clubs of God’s Grace International School, St. Theresa’s School, and the NUGS Secretary for Education, Gabriel Appiah recently donated educational materials to Kwae Jamestown Presbyterian Basic School in the Eastern Region.
The initiative, which aimed to promote basic education and literacy in the community, saw the donation of essential learning resources worth over GH₵60,000.
The donated items included textbooks, exercise books, storybooks, and various stationery items such as pens, pencils, rubbers, and rulers. These materials are expected to significantly enhance the learning experience of the students and alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians who struggle to provide these essentials for their children.
” During the donation ceremony, the Rotaractor Chartered President Prince Osei encouraged the pupils to make good use of the materials to improve their academic performance. He as well emphasized the importance of education and literacy in shaping the future of the community.”
While the donation addressed an immediate need, the team also identified a pressing challenge during their visit. The kindergarten building at the school was found to be in a deplorable state, with conditions described as inhumane. This has prompted the Rotaract Club of Accra Agri-eco to prioritize the completion of the kindergarten building as its next project. The club is committed to ensuring that the youngest learners have a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment for their education.
The Rotaract Club of Accra Agri-eco remains dedicated to its mission of creating lasting change in underserved communities. The club calls on individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to join hands in supporting future projects, particularly the completion of the kindergarten building. Together, we can ensure that every child has access to quality education and a brighter future.
This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that collective efforts can have on communities. The Rotaract Club of Accra Agri-eco and its partners are proud to have taken this step toward promoting education and literacy in Kwae Jamestown and look forward to continuing their work in the region.
We want to use this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to each one that contributed to the success of the impactful project.
