NYA CEO Donates Furniture to Abende Memorial Primary School in Bawku
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga Esq., has made a generous donation of furniture to Abende Memorial Primary School, located in the suburb of Bawku in the Upper East Region.
The donation, which was handed over through the Zabugu chief, Zabnab Awini Amadu, aligns with the CEO’s commitment to improving education and youth development in the region.
This donation comes in response to a request made by the Zabugu chief, who had reached out to the NYA for assistance in providing adequate learning materials and resources to the school.
During the handover ceremony, the chief, together with the elders of the community, expressed their profound gratitude for the gesture, which they believe will significantly enhance the learning environment at the school.
The chief and his council of elders expressed their excitement over the donation and pledged to ensure that the furniture is put to good use.
They emphasized that the initiative is vital in providing a conducive learning environment, one that will help shape the next generation of future leaders.
“With these new resources, we are confident that our children will be better equipped to pursue their studies and contribute positively to the development of the nation,” said Zabnab Awini Amadu, the Zabugu chief.

In his remarks, Osman Ayariga emphasized his vision of promoting youth empowerment and development across Ghana. He reiterated that his leadership of the National Youth Authority is focused on addressing key challenges facing the youth, including job insecurity and limited educational resources.
“The youth are the future of this country, and it is imperative that we invest in them today to ensure a brighter tomorrow,” Ayariga said. “Through initiatives like this, we aim to foster an environment that helps reduce social vices and prepare young people for a productive future.”
Mr. Ayariga also expressed his support for President John Dramani Mahama’s government, highlighting the administration’s efforts to implement policies aimed at addressing the nation’s youth unemployment crisis and other socio-economic challenges.
“We are facing numerous challenges, including job insecurity, but I am confident that the leadership of President Mahama will help create policies that will provide sustainable solutions and opportunities for young people across Ghana,” Ayariga added.
The donation of furniture is part of a larger initiative by the National Youth Authority to ensure that schools, particularly in rural and underserved communities, have the necessary infrastructure to support effective learning. The NYA continues to collaborate with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, local government authorities, and private sector partners, to improve educational standards and equip young people with the skills they need for a successful future.
The Abende Memorial Primary School community has expressed its thanks for the donation and looks forward to the positive impact it will have on the students’ academic performance and overall well-being. This initiative is just one example of the NYA’s ongoing efforts to promote youth development, education, and social empowerment across the country.
