A dusk-to-dawn curfew has been imposed on Binduri Township and surrounding areas in the Upper East Region following a deadly gun attack that claimed three lives and left three others injured.

The curfew, effective from March 24, 2025, between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, aims to curb escalating tensions and prevent further violence. The government has also banned the carrying of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons, as well as the wearing of smocks and riding of motorbikes.

The attack, which occurred near the Binduri market, is suspected to be linked to the long-standing Bawku chieftaincy conflict. Security agencies have launched an investigation and are working to apprehend the perpetrators.

Residents have been urged to exercise restraint and use non-violent means to resolve disputes. The government has called on chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to work towards maintaining peace in the area.
