Koforidua High Court Upholds Annoh-Dompreh’s Election as Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP
The Koforidua High Court has reaffirmed Frank Annoh-Dompreh’s position as the elected Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region.
Presided over by Justice George Krofa Addae, the court ruled in favor of Annoh-Dompreh, dismissing a petition challenging his election.
Background of the Petition
The petition, filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), alleged that the Electoral Commission (EC) made an improper declaration of the 2024 parliamentary election results in favor of Annoh-Dompreh. The NDC claimed that the declaration was not in line with electoral laws and was based on incorrect result sheets. The petition was spearheaded by Fummey Selorm Philibert, the NDC’s 2024 parliamentary candidate for Nsawam-Adoagyiri ¹.
Court Ruling and Implications
The court’s ruling on April 10, 2025, not only dismissed the petition but also imposed a cost of GH₵25,000 on the petitioner. This outcome solidifies Annoh-Dompreh’s position as the elected representative for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, bringing an end to the legal challenge against his election.

Reactions and Future Plans
The NDC has pledged to exhaust all legal avenues to challenge the parliamentary seat held by Annoh-Dompreh. Annoh-Dompreh, on the other hand, has been reaffirmed as the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, a position he has held since 2013. He has been a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and has served on various parliamentary committees, including the Housing Committee, Finance Committee, and Foreign Affairs Committee ¹.
