Former MP Advocates for Improved Sanitation in Kassena-Nankana West District
Hon. Lawyer Rudolf Amenga-Etigo, former Member of Parliament for the Chiana-Paga constituency, has called on the President’s nominee for the Kassena-Nankana West district, Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurungu, to prioritize sanitation, water and health issues in the district.
Specifically, he highlighted the need to address the proliferation of plastic waste and improve access to proper toilet facilities.
Hon Amenga-Etigo emphasized the importance of properly disposing of plastic waste, citing the risk of cholera outbreaks and other communicable diseases.
He also highlighted the need to improve access to water in the district, particularly given its importance for farming activities.
Hon Amenga-Etigo expressed confidence that the current MP, Hon Nikyema Billa Alamzy and the DCE would work together to address these pressing issues.
He made the call during the confirmation ceremony of Hon. Stephen Aeke Akurungu as the District Chief Executive.
The former MP expressed his willingness to serve in the Mahama-led government if called upon.
The ceremony was also attended by other notable NDC figures, including former MP Abuga Pele, among others.
