The Majority Leader of Parliament and MP for Bawku Central, Hon Mahama Ayariga has defended the handling of the Chief Justice’s position, stating that the President has acted within the confines of the law.

According to him, both the appointment and removal of a Chief Justice are governed by constitutional provisions.

Constitutional Package

Ayariga argued that the Constitution outlines both the appointment and removal of the Chief Justice as a single, inseparable process.

He stressed that anyone who accepts the position must also accept the constitutional procedure governing their potential removal from office.

Resource Allocation

Ayariga highlighted the need to adequately resource the Apex Court to ensure timely justice delivery across the country.
