In a heartwarming gesture to mark his birthday, the Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni Valley, Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, extended a helping hand to vulnerable members of his constituency.

The MP celebrated his special day by focusing on the health and well-being of children, the aged, and the sick within the constituency, underlining his commitment to social intervention and community care.

As part of the celebration, Hon. Cudjoe visited the Children’s Ward of the Prestea Government Hospital, where he personally paid medical bills ranging between GHS 800 and GHS 1,600 for children undergoing various treatments.

This gesture alleviated financial burdens on families struggling to afford healthcare for their children.

In addition to supporting the Constituents, the MP reached out to the aged and sick in several communities, including Damang, Huni-Valley, Amoanda, and Bompieso.

During his visits, he provided undisclosed amounts of cash to help cover medical expenses and other essential needs. The elderly recipients expressed profound gratitude for the support, describing it as timely and life-changing.

Commitment to Healthcare Access

Interacting with the residents during his outreach, Hon. Cudjoe emphasized the importance of prioritizing health. He urged both the youth and elderly to adopt a proactive approach by visiting healthcare facilities for regular check-ups to prevent avoidable health issues.

The MP reaffirmed his dedication to improving healthcare delivery within the constituency.

He pledged to channel his share of the MP’s Social Intervention Fund, under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), towards the establishment of health posts in underserved and hard-to-reach areas.

These initiatives, he noted, aim to enhance access to healthcare and reduce the challenges faced by residents in remote communities.

Constituents’ Reactions

Community members lauded the MP’s efforts, describing him as a leader who genuinely cares for the people.

“This is not the first time Hon. Cudjoe has shown kindness to the vulnerable. His commitment to addressing our health and social needs is commendable,” remarked one beneficiary in Huni-Valley.

Looking Ahead

Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe reiterated his resolve to continue similar initiatives in other communities across the constituency.

He expressed hope that his actions would inspire others, including the youth, to cultivate a culture of giving and care for the vulnerable in society.

This compassionate act by the MP underscores the importance of leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people, especially the most vulnerable.

The MP was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive Hon (Dr) Mathew Kofi Ayeh and other Constituency executives of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
