Sunyani West MP, Hon. Millicent Yeboah Amankwah, has strengthened the fight against crime in the Bono Region by donating a Nissan Navara pick-up vehicle and two motorbikes to the Bono Regional Police Command.

The gesture, presented on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, is aimed at enhancing the logistics capacity of the police to combat rising crime rates, particularly armed robbery incidents along the Sunyani-Berekum highway.

Communities such as Twumasikrom and Ayakomaso, which fall within Hon. Amankwah’s constituency, have faced challenges due to limited network coverage that often delays police response.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Amankwah emphasized her commitment to ensuring the safety and security of her constituents.

“This support is not just a donation; it reflects my deep commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Sunyani West and the Bono Region. Our communities deserve to feel safe and protected, and I remain dedicated to helping make that a reality,” she stated.

The Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboah, joined Hon. Amankwah in endorsing the initiative, acknowledging its importance in improving security across the region.

He expressed gratitude for the MP’s proactive efforts and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to public safety.

The Regional Police Commander, DCOP Yaw Dogbey Tettegah. On behalf of the Inspector general of Police expressed gratitude the MP for the intervention.

He assured the vehicle would be use for the intended purpose to tackle crime to protect properties to boost economy of the region.

The donation underscores the MP’s resolve to address critical security challenges in her constituency, fostering collaboration with local authorities to ensure that residents can live and work in a safer environment.
