Kwabre East MP Donates Over 6,000 Math Sets to Boost BECE Candidates’ Confidence
The Member of Parliament for Kwabre East, Hon. Akwasi Gyamfi Onyina-Acheampong, has thrown his support behind the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency, encouraging them to approach the exams with confidence, focus, and discipline.
As part of efforts to motivate and empower young learners, the MP undertook a constituency-wide tour, visiting various examination centres and schools while donating more than 6,000 mathematical sets to support candidates writing the exams.
In total, 6,724 candidates from both public and private basic schools across Kwabre East benefitted from the donation.
The initiative forms part of Hon. Gyamfi’s annual educational support programme, aimed at enhancing access to essential learning tools and promoting equity in education.
Addressing candidates during his visits, the MP inspired them to believe in their abilities and pursue their dreams with determination.
“Get ready for a bright future,” he said. “With discipline and diligence, there is no limit to what you can achieve. This examination marks just the beginning of a much bigger journey.”
Hon. Gyamfi also highlighted the importance of equal opportunity in education, noting that every child—regardless of background—deserves access to the basic tools necessary for academic success.
“As your representative in Parliament, I remain committed to supporting education and ensuring that no child in Kwabre East is left behind due to a lack of learning materials,” he stated.
The gesture was met with widespread appreciation from teachers, school administrators, and parents, who lauded the MP for his consistency and dedication to educational development in the constituency. Many described the donation as timely, especially for students facing economic hardship.
This year’s BECE has drawn over 571,000 candidates from across Ghana, including students from both public and private schools. The nationwide exam is being administered under the strict supervision of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and will conclude on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Hon. Gyamfi’s intervention aligns with broader efforts by Members of Parliament and other stakeholders across the country to boost morale and ensure students are well-prepared for the exams, which serve as a key gateway to senior high school.
