Lack of Prayer Is Killing Church Growth- Rev Wengam Laments
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana Rev Stephen Wengam has concluded an apostolic visit to the Ashanti East Region of the church.
The historic event in the Living Waters Assemblies of God in Kumasi, brought together more than 600 pastors, retired ministers and their spouses, and widows of deceased ministers to seek God’s face.
Rev Wengam led them to pray for four hours, focusing on repentance and rededication, intercession, petition and spiritual warfare. Prayer was also offered for church projects and ministry work in the rural areas.
In a brief sermon titled, “How To Transform Your Church Into A Prayer Hub, the General Superintendent bemoaned “prayerlessness “which, he said, has stifled the growth of the church. He urged pastors to reverse this order by preaching consistently on prayer and engaging the local church in massive prayer activities.

Another remarkable feature of the event was the renewal of vows by married couples.
In her usual philanthropic gesture, the National President of the Ministers Wives Association, Lady Mrs Wengam presented undisclosed amounts of cash and pieces of cloth each to retirees and spouses and widows of deceased ministers. Every pastor’s wife received a piece of cloth.
The Ashanti East Region branch of the church presented kente and sandals, to Rev Wengam and wife. The Regional Superintendent Rev Emmanuel Gyasi and wife lauded the apostolic visit initiative, saying “ it has transformed the church largely.”
