The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has urged Ghanaian youth to safeguard their future by resisting reckless Comments by politicians, religious and traditional leaders that could endanger the nation’s peace and stability.
Speaking at the 2025 National Youth Conference organised by the National Youth Authority at Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings cautioned against being influenced by divisive leaders and statements that could disrupt national unity.
“Let us not allow ourselves to be dragged into generational feuds and conflicts,” she said. “You are in Ghana today, and I can assure you, you have no idea what it means to be in a country where there is war. Let us not take it for granted.”

Dr Agyeman-Rawlings who is the Chairperson for Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliament stressed that Ghana’s peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups should not be compromised.
“The peace that we enjoy here is what is allowing us to sit in this room today without worrying about whether anybody is going to come in here and kill us,” she emphasized. “We are sitting here today from different ethnic groups, different regions, sitting here in harmony. That is the Ghana we envision, and don’t let anybody take that away from you – not a politician, not a traditional leader, not a religious leader, not an academic.”
According to her, the nation’s progress depends on unity in diversity.
“This country can only develop if we recognize that in our diversity is strength. Let us tap into that, and let us make sure that we continue to be the shining black star of this continent that other countries will learn from,” she added.
She concluded by encouraging the youth to remain focused on building a better future: “Do not allow people making reckless statements to lead you into disrupting a potential future that you have.”
