The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, and Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has assured his constituents of government’s commitment to establishing a Nursing Training College in Ningo.
The new institution, he explained, will serve as a hub for training health professionals to meet the pressing healthcare needs of the area while also offering opportunities for Senior High School graduates to pursue careers in nursing.
Hon. George made the announcement when he chaired the Homowo Grand Durbar at Ningo on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Addressing Health Gaps in Ningo
The MP emphasized that the people of Ningo continue to face significant healthcare challenges. Many communities in the constituency lack fully equipped health facilities, forcing residents to travel long distances to Accra or Tema to access specialized medical services.

The few existing clinics and health posts are often overstretched, with inadequate staff and limited resources to meet the growing population’s needs.
“By establishing this Nursing Training College here in Ningo, we are not only creating educational opportunities but also laying the foundation for producing the health professionals who will serve our communities in the years ahead,” he stated.
Infrastructure Commitments
Hon. George also revealed plans for the construction of the Tsopoli–Ningo road, describing it as a critical project that will improve transportation, ease the movement of goods and services, and enhance connectivity between Ningo and other parts of Greater Accra.
In addition, he donated GH¢100,000 to the Ningo Traditional Council to support the successful organization of this year’s Homowo festival.

Leadership and Representation
Sam George has served as the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram since 2017, after winning the seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Over the years, he has championed education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development as central pillars of his representation.
He reassured his constituents that the upcoming nursing training college and road construction are part of a broader agenda to accelerate development and improve living standards in the constituency.
