The Member of Parliament (MP) for Talensi, Hon. Daniel Dung Mahama, has visited communities in Pwalugu to assess the impact of the Bagre Dam spillage on farmlands and livelihoods.
The visit, which took place on Monday, September 1, 2025, was carried out in the company of the Talensi District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Bismark Asugre Farouq, and his team.
Mr. Farouq noted that continuous monitoring has ensured compliance with precautionary measures, particularly the directive for farmers to keep away from rising floodwaters while salvaging their produce.
Hon. Mahama commended residents and farmers for their cooperation, emphasizing that their adherence to safety measures has been key to safeguarding lives and property.

He further directed NADMO to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the affected areas to facilitate a planned tour with a technical team.
According to him, this would help policymakers and stakeholders appreciate firsthand the extent of damage and inform appropriate interventions.
Later in the day, Hon. Mahama joined the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. John Millim Nabwomya, at Puso-Namongo to attend the funeral rites of the late Baag-Naab. The two leaders also visited Gorogo to sympathize with the families of the late Chairman Schiro and Mr. Anthony Pugera, Ward Chairman of Gorogo-Puso-Namongo, who recently lost his sister.
They were accompanied by Mr. Michael Nangena, Communications Officer; Hon. Roland Basahama, Treasurer; Mr. Michael Naab, Director of Elections; and Mr. Prince Tindana, Deputy Youth Organizer.
Both the MP and the DCE reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the spillage exercise is managed without casualties and with minimal disruption to livelihoods in the constituency.
