The Ghana Chapter of the African Women Leaders Network(AWLN) has extended warm congratulations to Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings following her election as Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament.
In a statement signed by its Ghana Chapter Chairperson, Dr Charity Binka, the network described the achievement as both a personal milestone and a source of pride for Ghana and the African continent.
“This distinguished elevation to high office is both a personal milestone and a moment of national and continental pride,” the statement noted.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, who serves as Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle and Co-Chair of AWLN’s Governance and Political Participation Pillar, was praised for her consistent display of principled leadership and dedication to democratic governance.
According to AWLN Ghana, her election reflects “her unwavering commitment to democratic governance and her deep dedication to advancing the interests of the people she serves,” adding that she has, over the years, demonstrated “integrity, competence, and a forward-looking vision that resonates strongly within Ghana and across Africa.”

The network further emphasized the significance of her election at a time when the continent requires inclusive and visionary leadership to address complex socio-political and economic challenges.
“The Pan-African Parliament plays a pivotal role in promoting democratic values, strengthening continental integration, and amplifying the voices of African citizens. Hon. Agyeman-Rawlings’ presence within its leadership is therefore both timely and strategic,” the statement said.
AWLN Ghana also highlighted the broader implications of her achievement for women’s leadership across Africa, describing it as a powerful affirmation of the growing influence of women in decision-making spaces.

“Her success stands as a beacon of inspiration to countless young women and girls across the continent, demonstrating that leadership spaces at the highest levels are not only accessible but can be effectively shaped by women,” the statement added.
Expressing confidence in her ability to excel in her new role, the network noted that she would bring experience, passion, and a strong advocacy for equity and inclusion to the position.
“We believe her tenure as Second Vice President will contribute significantly to strengthening the effectiveness of the Pan-African Parliament, enhancing collaboration among Member States, and advancing policies that respond to the aspirations of African citizens, particularly women and young people,” AWLN Ghana stated.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to promoting and supporting transformative leadership by African women and pledged continued support for women breaking barriers across the continent.
“We remain steadfast in our efforts to create platforms that nurture, elevate, and sustain women’s leadership in all spheres of society,” the statement concluded.
