Chambas Praises Basintale Over Timely YEA Allowances, Transparency

Alhaji Abass Ibrahim Chambas, Director of Zongo Empowerment at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has commended the Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Malik Basintale, for promoting transparency, engaging beneficiaries, and ensuring timely payment of allowances.

Mr Chambas, who aspires to become a National Executive Committee member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the YEA CEO’s leadership has improved communication between management and beneficiaries, helping them better understand the Agency’s programmes and operations.

He made the remarks during Mr. Basintale’s familiarisation tour of the Upper East Region, which provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to interact directly with the national leadership, raise concerns and seek clarification on issues affecting them.

According to Mr. Chambas, the engagement was productive because the CEO took time to listen to beneficiaries and explain the various employment modules operated by the Agency.

“Everything went on very well because our National CEO was able to listen to the beneficiaries and throw more light on the various modules of the Agency. He is a CEO who does not hide anything from staff and beneficiaries. He explains issues concerning the Agency to their better understanding,” he stated.

He particularly praised the Agency’s management for what he described as significant progress in the payment of beneficiaries’ allowances, insisting that outstanding payments had been addressed.

“Every beneficiary has received all their allowances, and we have paid everyone up to date. You can see the kind of proactive and transparent CEO we have today,” Mr. Chambas said.

He added that his long association with the Agency had enabled him to observe changes in its administration, describing Mr. Basintale as a leader who follows through on commitments made to beneficiaries.

To underscore his admiration for the YEA CEO, Mr. Chambas drew an analogy from football, comparing him to a top-performing player.

“Honestly, if you ask me in football terms, I will call him Agogo because he is the best CEO in Ghana. Trust me, any promise he makes to the beneficiaries, he always delivers,” he said.

Mr. Chambas’ remarks highlighted the importance of transparent communication, responsive leadership and regular payment of allowances in sustaining beneficiaries’ confidence in the Agency’s employment programmes.

Meanwhile, the Zongo Empowerment Director used the occasion to appeal to NDC supporters to support his ambition to secure a position on the party’s National Executive Committee when nominations and elections are held.

He expressed confidence in his bid, saying he hoped to contribute to the party’s growth and development through service at the national level.
