A retired Police Officer has expressed outrage and taken a swipe at President Akufo-Addo over the decision by the government to include individual bondholders in the Debt Exchange Programme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retired officer ASP [rtd] Franklin Nartey said he had served the service for over 24 years, and he used his gratuity to purchase bonds and was expecting that his bond would have matured by September 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that will no longer be the case due to the new exchange programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have driven this nation into the ditch, and you have returned to ask me who has toiled to pay for your recklessness. I used my savings to purchase the bonds, and it was the elected president who robbed me, not an armed robber. You did not listen to us when you rented the luxurious planes. When you appointed so many ministers, and we complained, you refused to listen. Today, your incompetence is going to cost me my bonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI expected to enjoy the fruits of my labour, but instead, I am expected to receive my savings in 2033\u2026With all due respect, Mr. President, your cousin Ken Ofori-Atta used his Databank as Finance Minister to contract loans and made profits. He should put the profits to good use and spare my bonds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
