{"id":10395,"date":"2023-02-21T13:10:02","date_gmt":"2023-02-21T13:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/2023\/02\/21\/mp-queries-minister-in-parliament-over-adenta-dodwa-road-traffic-congestion\/"},"modified":"2023-02-21T13:10:02","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T13:10:02","slug":"mp-queries-minister-in-parliament-over-adenta-dodwa-road-traffic-congestion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=10395","title":{"rendered":"MP Queries Minister in Parliament over Adenta-Dodwa Road Traffic Congestion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Member of Parliament for Adenta Constituency, Hon Mohammed Adamu Ramadan has dragged the Minister for Roads and Highways to parliament over the Adenta -Dodowa road traffic congestion.<\/strong><br>According to the MP, the Adenta-Dodowa road is an important road to the Eastern Corridor and the congestion is affecting business activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He therefore wanted to know what the government through the Ministry is doing to reduce the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Mr Speaker, I rise to ask the Minister for Roads and Highways what urgent steps the Ministry is taking to mitigate the traffic situation on the Adenta-Amrahia Malejor-Dodowa road,&#8221; Hon Adamu Ramadan quizzed the sector Minister on the floor of parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"513\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/FB_IMG_1676982694626.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/FB_IMG_1676982694626.jpg 513w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/FB_IMG_1676982694626-300x205.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Hon Adamu Ramadan<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In response, the Minister for Roads and highway, Hon Kwesi Amoako-Atta said, the Adenta Dodowa road forms part of the Regional Road R40<br \/>which connects the Greater Accra Region at Adenta Junction<br \/>through Dodowa to the Eastern Region at Trom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the road is a single<br \/>carriageway with bituminous surface treated and in fair condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Sections of the road are however in bad condition, especially at the major intersections and at the approaches of speed ramps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Speaker, the road has medium<br>to high traffic which worsens during the peak hours (morning and<br>evening),&#8221; the Minister said.<br>Nevertheless, Hon Amoako-Atta said the dualisation of the Adenta-Dodowa road is part of the Sinohydro Master Project Support Agreement (MPSA) between the<br>Government of Ghana and Sinohydro Corporation of China as Lot <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said under the programme, the road is supposed to be widened to a<br>dual carriageway between Adenta and Oyibi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>But the project however, &#8220;has stalled because Sinosure is yet to clear the<br>financing.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He therefore assured that, &#8220;the Ghana Highway Authority in the interim has been<br \/>carrying out routine maintenance works on the bad sections of the road to keep it motorable and maintain the structural integrity of<br \/>the road.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Hon Adamu Ramadqn expressed his disappointment in the fact that, the road has been abandoned and the congestion is affecting economic activitie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He therefore called on the government to as a matter of necessity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Source: expressnewsghana.com<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Member of Parliament for Adenta Constituency, Hon Mohammed Adamu Ramadan has dragged the Minister for Roads and Highways to parliament over the Adenta -Dodowa [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":10394,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[20],"tags":[2573],"class_list":["post-10395","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-parliamentary","tag-adenta-roads-dodowa"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
