{"id":10503,"date":"2023-03-02T20:19:54","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T20:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=10503"},"modified":"2023-03-02T20:21:44","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T20:21:44","slug":"we-will-back-ec-new-to-sanitise-ghanas-electoral-system-majority-caucus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=10503","title":{"rendered":"We will Back EC New  CI to Sanitise Ghana\u2019s Electoral System- Majority Caucus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Majority Caucus in Parliament has backed the Electoral Commission (EC) to introduce the<\/strong><strong> new Constitutional Instrument (CI) to sanitise the country&#8217;s electoral system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the Majority, the new CI being championed by the Electoral Commission would not disenfranchise Ghanaians in the 2024 general elections as been claimed by the opposition National Democratic Congress<\/p>\n<p>The EC with its new C.I seek to use the Ghana Card as the source document for registration onto the voters register.<\/p>\n<p>Briefing the media in parliament on Thursday, March 2, 2023, \u00a0the Majority Leader, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu\u00a0 said the new reforms would help to sanitise the electoral process.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10505\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10505\" style=\"width: 299px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10505\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/images-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"168\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10505\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MADAM JEAN MENSAH<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThis is a system that has come to sanitise and purify our system.
