The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ledzokuku Constituency, Hon Benjamin Narteh Ayiku has successfully filed his nomination to contest the May, 13 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was accompanied by his campaign team, ward Coordinators, Assembly members and branch executives from almost all the branches of NDC in the constituency to submit his file nomination at the Ledzokuku Constituency office at Teshie.<\/p>\n

The Constituency Director of Elections of the Party, Hon. Frank Nii Dua and the elections committee led by Mrs. Esther Botchway received the forms.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ayiku, a member of the Food, Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee of Parliament was the first aspirant to have filed his nomination in the constituency.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering after filing his nomination, Hon Ayiku advised his supporters against offensive language, since that had the tendency to divide the party.<\/p>\n

According to him, politics was about numbers and it was essential to campaign devoid of the use of foul words on their opponent but rather work hard to win their hearts to join the winning team.<\/p>\n

He further assured the constituents he would continue to work closely with all the branch executives to intensify his contribution to the socio-economic development of Ledzokuku to make the NDC more formidable to win the parliamentary and presidential elections come 2024 and beyond.<\/p>\n

The MP however advised party members to educate their relatives and friends, about the proposed voter registration exercise to be conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC).<\/p>\n

He said all constituents who do not have the requisite national Identification Card known as the Ghana Card should do well to go to the National Identification Authority (NIA) and obtain one.<\/p>\n

He said it is the Ghana Card they would be used to enable them to vote for him and John Mahama to rescue them from the mismanaged economy by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo Addo.<\/p>\n

The hard-working MP who had proven to be a philanthropist than a politician is the first member of parliament for the constituency whose party is not in government but has worked assiduously to the admiration of all.<\/p>\n

He urged the delegates to retain him as a parliamentary candidate so he could retain the seat for the NDC to form the next government come January 2025.<\/p>\n

Hon Ayiku won the 2020 general election with 55,938 votes representing 50.5 percent of the total votes cast to beat the then-incumbent MP of the NPP, Dr. Bernard Oko Boye who obtained 54,072 votes representing 48.8 percent.<\/p>\n
