{"id":11209,"date":"2023-05-10T14:50:24","date_gmt":"2023-05-10T14:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=11209"},"modified":"2023-05-10T14:50:42","modified_gmt":"2023-05-10T14:50:42","slug":"arrest-contractor-over-the-bortianor-church-collapse-sakaman-chief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=11209","title":{"rendered":"Arrest Contractor over the Bortianor Church Collapse \u2013 Sakaman Chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Akwashonkye of Sakaman, Nii Omani Mensah, has called on the Ghana Police Service to arrest and prosecute the contractor who erected the now collapsed Word in Action Ministry church building at old Bortianor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nii Omani Mensah, who sold the land to the pastor, has revealed that the contractor was instructed to allow for proper drainage of water coming from nearby hills but he failed to do so.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview, Nii Omani Mensah explained that the pastor and contractor did not use quality materials.<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Accra Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, AD02 Alex King Nartey, disclosed that the pastor did not obtain the necessary permit after altering the initial plans for the church auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, initial investigations revealed that the pastor and contractor used substandard 32-R cement instead of the required 42-R cement in constructing the building.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The sad incident occurred on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and security agencies rushed to the site to rescue the people under the debris.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, seven people are currently receiving treatment at the hospital with one in critical condition at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospita<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Source: Theghanareport<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Akwashonkye of Sakaman, Nii Omani Mensah, has called on the Ghana Police Service to arrest and prosecute the contractor who erected the now collapsed [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":11210,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[2787],"class_list":["post-11209","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-bortianor-building-collapsed-chief-sakaman"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
