The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) \u00a0has opened nominations today, Friday, May 26, 2023, as part of the process in search of a flagbearer to succeed outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo, for the 2024 general elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a press statement, the party said, \u201cNomination forms shall be obtained from the Office of the General Secretary at the Party Headquarters, Asylum Down, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday)\u201d.<\/p>\n

The party said the nomination process will end on June 26.<\/p>\n

The decision was taken at the party\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meetings held on Monday, April 3, 2023.<\/p>\n

NPP\u2019s flagbearer hopefuls are expected to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GH\u00a250,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Party is determined to hold a free, fair, transparent and peaceful presidential primary election, and urges all stakeholders to help make this a reality\u201d.<\/p>\n

NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), at its National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meetings held on Monday, April 3, 2023, approved the timelines for holding the party\u2019s presidential primaries as follows:<\/p>\n

Opening of Nominations- Friday, May 26, 2023<\/p>\n

Closing of Nominations \u2013 Saturday, June 24, 2023<\/p>\n

Special Electoral College Elections (if any) \u2013 Saturday, August 26, 2023<\/p>\n

National Congress \u2013 Saturday, November 4, 2023.<\/p>\n

Pursuant to the National Council timelines, the Party hereby announces, the opening of nomination for the presidential primary election. Nomination forms shall be obtained from the Office of the General Secretary at the Party Headquarters, Asylum Down, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday).<\/p>\n

Consequently, an Aspiring Presidential Candidate shall obtain the Nomination Forms after payment of a non-refundable nomination fee of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH\u00a250, 000.00) only, through a Banker\u2019s Draft issued to the NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, ACCRA as payee.<\/p>\n

The Party is determined to hold a free, fair, transparent and peaceful presidential primary election, and urges all stakeholders to help make this a reality.<\/p>\n
