The French Embassy in Ghana has expressed its commitment to continue supporting the Gender equality and women empowerment programme to achieve the sustainable goal, of SDG #5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officer in charge of Corporate and Culture Affairs of the French Embassy, Ms Alberta Ameziah disclosed this at a high-level breakfast meeting on the Gender Advocacy to Parliament Project (GAP) under the auspices of the French Embassy on Friday, July 21, 2023.<\/p>\n

She said the embassy placed priority on gender and women empowerment and would continue to provide support to Gender issues in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Journalists at the Breakfast meeting with some female parliamentarians, Ms. Alberta Ameziah said the French Embassy would continue to spearhead this commitment through its feminist foreign policy.<\/p>\n

The Embassy has over the years advocated gender equality in international forums and wants this goal to be taken into account in all issues from inequality reduction to sustainable development, peace and security, defence and promotion of fundamental rights, and climate and economic issues.<\/p>\n

She said women and girls are often more affected by poverty, conflict, and climate change than men as they face difficulties and discrimination, in every field and every country.<\/p>\n
