{"id":12819,"date":"2023-09-05T15:53:43","date_gmt":"2023-09-05T15:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=12819"},"modified":"2023-09-05T15:53:43","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T15:53:43","slug":"we-shall-defeat-this-violent-npp-mob-in-2024-ndc-director-of-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=12819","title":{"rendered":"We shall defeat this Violent NPP Mob in 2024 \u2013NDC Director of Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has asked the National Peace Council, traditional rulers and all other peace-loving persons to speak against the violence that characterized the recently held super delegates conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the polls on Saturday, August 26, Ali Zakaria, an agent of one of the aspirants Mr Alan Kyerematen, was hit in the eye and had to be taken to the Baptist Medical Center (BMC) for immediate treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Omane Boamah said that the violence occurred particularly at a time when democracy is threatened in a contested sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, he said \u201cThe NPP orchestrated violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election went unpunished. Then, the dastardly killing of eight (8) innocent Ghanaians followed during the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections\u2026 In addition, the authorized military invasion of the Chamber of Parliament at dawn on January 07, 2021, went unpunished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTruth is, the Akufo-Addo Bawumia led NPP\u2019s quest for power knows no limits, and so they descended heavily on their own, leaving blood oozing facial injuries during the just-ended blood-tainted Super Delegates elections showdown. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia certainly has questions to answer, but he has ignored them just as he has refused to answer critical questions on the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlan John Kwadwo Kyerematen may not survive this violence from the Bawumia camp, but NPP must understand this is the last time violence will deliver victory to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeace-loving Ghanaians, including the religious and traditional leaders, must speak out against violence, particularly at a time that democracy is threatened in our contested sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrust that the NDC shall defeat this violent NPP mob in 2024.
