{"id":12863,"date":"2023-09-11T12:09:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T12:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=12863"},"modified":"2023-09-11T12:09:55","modified_gmt":"2023-09-11T12:09:55","slug":"plot-against-igp-tape-dr-dampare-tells-parliament-committee-his-side-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=12863","title":{"rendered":"Plot against IGP Tape; Dr. Dampare tells Parliament Committee his Side on Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"td-post-content tagdiv-type\">\n<p><strong>The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has been invited by the special bi-partisan probe committee chaired by Samuel Atta Akyea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The IGP is expected to appear before the seven-member committee on Tuesday, September 12 in the accompaniment of his lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>This follows a review of a new tape acquired by the committee as it concluded its public hearings last week.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Parliament ad-hoc committee investigating the tape, Atta Akyea, who is also the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency, said all witnesses who have so far appeared before the committee will also be re-examined, starting Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re calling all the witnesses who have come before us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChief [Daniel] Bugri Naabu, Superintendent [George Lysander] Asare, Commissioner [George Alex] Mensah and, then, we also want to bring along the Inspector General of Police.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he insists that the ensuing hearings of the committee will be in-camera.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be in-camera because we are now delving deep into the evidence and some of the evidence might have National Security implications.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the things we are going to do now will be in-camera unless it is obvious that it has no National Security implications and therefore it could be aired.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has been invited by the special bi-partisan probe committee chaired by Samuel Atta Akyea.
