Hon Abena Osei-Asare, a Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Atiwa East has expressed her unwavering commitment to the ruling New Patriotic Party ( NPP).<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to her, her support for the party remained unblemish and she has no intention whatsoever to follow Hon Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten who resigned to contest as Independent candidate for the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Hon Osei-Asare made this after Alan Kyeremanten , a founding member of the NPP announced his resignation from the NPP at a press conference in Accra on Monday, September 25, 2023.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Finance Minister was a well-known supporter of Alan Kyerematen\u2019s bid to lead the NPP, during the special delegates conference to elect five candidates for the NPP Flagbearer primaries in November , 2023.<\/p>\n

However, Abena said she would not align herself with Alan\u2019s decision to break ranks with the NPP.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy commitment to the New Patriotic Party runs deep, rooted in our shared values and vision for a prosperous Ghana. The NPP\u2019s strength has always been its unity and our ability to work together for the common good of our country,” she said.<\/p>\n

In a press statement issued on Monday, September 25, 2023, and sighted by EXPRESSNEWSGHANA<\/strong><\/em>, the Atiwa East lawmaker distanced herself from Kyerematen\u2019s move to run as an independent candidate.<\/p>\n

I find it necessary to address the recent decision of Hon Alan Kyerematen to leave the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and run as an independent candidate in 2024.<\/p>\n

First and foremost, while I enjoy both a personal and professional relationship with Hon Alan Kyerematen, characterized by mutual respect and a shared commitment to our nation\u2019s progress, I must respectfully distance myself from his recent choice.<\/p>\n

My dedication to the New Patriotic Party is deep-seated, and rooted in our shared values and vision for a prosperous Ghana. The NPP\u2019s strength has always been its unity and our ability to work together for the common good of our country.<\/p>\n
