{"id":13750,"date":"2023-11-16T12:21:47","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T12:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=13750"},"modified":"2023-11-16T12:21:47","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T12:21:47","slug":"gh%c2%a2220-million-relief-for-akosombo-flood-victims-positive-ablakwa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=13750","title":{"rendered":"GH\u00a2220 million Relief for Akosombo flood Victims Positive &#8211; Ablakwa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>North Tongu lawmaker, Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa, has commended the government for the allocation of GH\u00a2220 million in the 2024 Budget to support flood victims the Akosombo Dam spillage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta in presenting the 2024 Budget Statement in Parliament on Wednesday announced a GH\u00a2220 million relief package for the Akosombo Dam spillage flood victims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Speaker, Government has budgeted an amount of GH\u00a2220 million to support the relief phase for the communities affected by the Akosombo spillage as well as floods upstream in the Oti, Savannah, and Bono-East Regions,\u201d Mr Ofori-Atta said.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to announcement, Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa whose constituents are part of the affected victims said it was a positive development.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13752\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FB_IMG_1700136325730.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FB_IMG_1700136325730.jpg 720w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FB_IMG_1700136325730-250x167.jpg 250w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FB_IMG_1700136325730-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That is a significant development, and I think that in this entire budget, that is the only positive that I would like to highlight. However, I will be cautiously optimistic because there is a world of difference between allocation and actual release.
