As part of his social intervention policy, the Member of Parliament\u00a0 (MP) for Adentan Constituency, Hon Mohammed Adamu Ramadan has provided free driving licence training and testing for residents, especially the youth who are into commercial driving business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The free licensing training and testing, according to the MP, is to reduce the burden of cost of obtaining licences and as well creating jobs opportunity for youth who have the driving skills but cannot afford to obtain licence<\/p>\n

The exercises were organized in three different locations, Armahia, Ashaley-Botwe and the MPs Office within the constituency by officials from the Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).<\/p>\n

The driver and vehicle licence registration in Adentan constituency is one of many Hon Ramadan’s said the exercises was timely, as it is getting to Christmas and the New Year season where drivers are expected to drive professionally for safety on the roads.<\/p>\n

He assured the exercises would be replicated in subsequent years to cover persons who are willing to venture into driving but cannot afford the cost.<\/p>\n

Currently, an Ordinary driving licence by the DVLA cost a little over GHS1, 400, a cost most drivers could not afford to pay.<\/p>\n

Mr. John Yaw Asante, the officer who led the DVLA Team for the four-day training, commended the MP for the taken the steps to procure driving licences for his constituents.<\/p>\n

He said the exercises in Adenta was their ever largest patronage outreach program and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the licences by observing road and traffic regulation at all time.<\/p>\n

The free exercise sponsored by the MP covers New License, Renewal, Upgrading of classes, replacement of expired and\u00a0 missing license, International driving\u00a0 license, among others.<\/p>\n
