Residents of over 13 flood affected communities\u2019 remains homeless in Kpando Constituency and its neighbouring areas resulting from the Akosombo Dam overflowed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Residents are still living with relatives and some in uncompleted building and churches.<\/p>\n

The September 15, Akosombo dam spillage, displaced many lives in the Kpando constituency.<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Della Adjoa Sowah told EXPRESSNEWSGHANA<\/em><\/strong>, the wrath of the waters were unforgiving and that no one was spared as Churches, Schools, Homes and markets where the resident depend on their livelihoods were all consumed by the floods.<\/p>\n

The Kpando Constituency, is just about four hours drive from the national capital, Accra yet government remained lap lip over the plight of the flood victims.<\/p>\n

She said even though the constituency is at the upper stream of the Volta Lake, it was badly hit by the overflow water and residents remained displaced.<\/p>\n

Since the flood incident, the MP said no government official has visited the affected area and provide relief and that when items are being distributed, the Kpando flood victims are largely ignored.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Hon Dellah Sowah expressed appreciation to former President John Mahama, business magnate, Ibrahim Mahama and some media houses in the country that through their outlets, the flood victims got some relief items.<\/p>\n

“We appreciate the contributions of former president John Dramani Mahama, business mogul Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, CITI, TV3, Dela Maxson of OKN TV, By and large Kpando is on its own.”<\/p>\n

\u201cA walk through communities over the weekend brought back the reality of what many lives are facing. Kpando needs many materials to rebuild our communities. Please help, little drops of water makes a mighty ocean.\u201d she appealed to the public.<\/p>\n
