The Ghana\u2019s branch of the Life for Relief and Development, a United States of America (USA) based non-governmental organization (NGO) has embarked on Iftar (breaking fast) series to pray and provide food to Muslims in some communities in Accra as part of its Ramadan activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the spirit of fraternizing with the deprived Muslim communities during Iftar, the Country Director, Umar Farouk Ibrahim led the Team of Life for Relief and Development to joined some community mosques in Iftar prayers to breakfast.<\/p>\n

The NGO provided both the elderly men and women, young boys and girls with variety of food and soft drinks for over 600 people.<\/p>\n

Some of the mosques that Life for Relief and Development visited were Redco Flats, Sakora P&T and Alajo,in La-Nkwatanang Madina and Ayawaso Central Municipalities respectively.<\/p>\n

After the Iftar prayers, the Imams including \u00a0Imam Yunus Abdul Kareem of Redco Mosque, Imam Abdul Hakeem Siraj of Sakora P&T and Imam Yusif Sayeed<\/p>\n

The move, according Farouk Ibrahim, is to show solidarity and commitment to the welfare of the Muslim community in this Holy Month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

He said, this was not the first of such series and that similar fraternity by the NGO has been done previously in Accra.<\/p>\n

Farouk Ibrahim used the occasion to remind his colleagues Muslims for special prayers for the country and the Life and Relief and Development to work for more to touch more lives, especially the deprived communities.<\/p>\n
