The Member of Parliament (MP)\u00a0 for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, has charged Constituents, especially those attained voting ages of 18 and above, to let their voice heard by taking part in the limited voter registration exercise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to her, it is only when the constituents arm themselves with their permanent Voters\u2019 Cards that they could determine the quality of leader that will rule over them<\/p>\n

Dr Zanetor who is also the Deputy Ranking member of the Defence and Interior Committee of parliament made the call when she paid a visit to the Electoral Commission Headquarters where the ongoing voter registration exercise is taking place within her constituency in Accra.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a great time visiting the Electoral Commission Headquarters to support the ongoing limited voter\u2019s registration. Let’s make our voices heard in the upcoming December 7th General Elections by registering and voting for leaders who prioritize the concerns of our nation and its citizens,\u201d Dr Zanetor stated on her Facebook wall.<\/p>\n

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana commenced limited registration of persons attainted the voting age of 18 and those who were unable to register for the 2020 general elections.<\/p>\n

The exercises which began earlier this month is expected to end on Monday, May 27, 2024, for which reason Dr Zanetor urged constituents and every citizen who are yet to have their names in the voter register to quickly do so in order to determine whom to give their mandate to rule them from December 7.<\/p>\n

She said, it is only when the citizenry arm themselves with their Voters\u2019 ID Cards that they could determine the quality of leaders that will rule over them.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker explained that, the voter registration does not only give ample opportunity to the citizenry to perform their civic responsibility, but the power to determine their leader.<\/p>\n

Dr Zanetor stressed the need for the citizenry to get their voter ID Cards, saying, \u201cOur voters\u2019 ID card is our power. The earlier we have that power, the better. It\u2019s not enough to criticize the government over the economic hardship; we must also do that with our votes. If you make the right choices, your lives will be better. But if you make the wrong choices, you\u2019ll live with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that, It\u2019s important that we all exercise our civic duty and look for the right leader that will make life better for all of us, and that they must let their voice be heard loud and clear on December 7.<\/p>\n

She also charged the EC to ensure they register every person who turn out to be registered so no one is disenfranchised in the 2024 general election.<\/p>\n
