In a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery in the Chereponi Constituency, Honorable Abdul-Razak Tahidu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chereponi, has donated a 41 KVA generator to the Chereponi District Hospital.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The donation aims to ensure a consistent power supply, mitigating the adverse effects of frequent power outages on the hospital’s operations.<\/p>\n

Hon. Tahidu emphasized the necessity of the generator, highlighting its role in maintaining uninterrupted healthcare services.<\/p>\n

“The people voted for me for a purpose, and their healthcare is essential. So, I have to do what I could to get the generator to ensure constant and reliable power supply to the hospital,” he stated in an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The generator will also support the staff quarters, ensuring that medical personnel can provide care at all times.<\/p>\n

The generator donation is part of a series of health sector interventions by Hon. Tahidu.<\/p>\n

His contributions include: donating motorbikes for field education and health workers, providing laptops to the District Directorate and facilitating free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration for many residents.<\/p>\n

Despite these efforts, Hon. Tahidu acknowledged ongoing challenges such as poor road conditions and acute water shortages.<\/p>\n

He assured he remains committed to lobbying the respective ministries to address these issues, enhancing the overall healthcare infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mahamud Aliu Saalana, the Medical Superintendent of Chereponi District Hospital, expressed gratitude for the timely donation. He described the frequent power outages the hospital faces, noting that the generator has already become crucial.<\/p>\n

“The hospital, which serves as a referral health facility for over 80 communities, often experiences power cuts that can last for days, severely impacting service delivery,” Dr. Saalana said.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The generator will ensure continuous care for various cases, especially those related to antenatal and pregnancy, typhoid, and snake bites, which are common in the area.<\/p>\n

Dr. Saalana also highlighted other pressing issues, including inadequate infrastructure, lack of potable water, and a poor road network.<\/p>\n

Chereponi District, one of the six districts in the North East Region, shares boundaries with Gushegu District to the West, Bunkpurugu -Yunyoo District to the North, Saboba and Yendi Districts to the South-West and The Republic of Togo and to the East is bordered by River Oti.<\/p>\n
