Alexander Kwame Afenyo-Markin has set an ambitious target of securing 80% of the Effutu Constituency parliamentary votes in the upcoming 2024 elections. <\/strong><\/p>\n

At the filing of his nomination forms on Monday, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) declared in Fante, \u201cThis year, our target is to secure 80% of the votes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to a cheering crowd of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, Afenyo-Markin, who also serves as the Majority Leader in Parliament, highlighted his previous electoral success.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cFour years ago, we secured 65% of the total valid votes cast, but this year, we are aiming for 80%,\u201d he said, drawing loud applause from the jubilant audience.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As the 2024 elections approach, Afenyo-Markin is intensifying his efforts to engage with constituents, using innovative polling and survey initiatives to help secure the votes.<\/p>\n

These efforts aim to gauge the needs and concerns of the electorate, enabling him to address their priorities through infrastructure projects and community services. His campaign is particularly focused on engaging the Ewe, Fante, and Effutu communities.<\/p>\n

With a unique heritage of being both Ewe and Effutu, Afenyo-Markin is able to appeal to various demographic groups within his constituency.<\/p>\n

His background allows him to empathize with the diverse concerns of these communities and adopt a balanced approach to policymaking and outreach.<\/p>\n

A key element of his strategy is his partnership with the University of Education, Winneba, located in the Central Region.<\/p>\n

The institution\u2019s large student population and active engagement with the community provide a platform for Afenyo-Markin to rally support among younger voters. His initiatives, including educational scholarships, libraries, and community involvement programs, aim to empower students academically and potentially draw votes from the university community.<\/p>\n

As the election draws near, Afenyo-Markin\u2019s strategy of direct engagement with constituents, personalized polling, and tailored community initiatives could prove decisive in his re-election bid.<\/p>\n

While some see the goal of 80% as overly ambitious, others believe his diligent work in building a responsive constituency governance model will strengthen his appeal.<\/p>\n
