The Frimpong Manso Institute (FMI) has weighed in on the ongoing dispute regarding the voters’ register between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Electoral Commission (EC).<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a recent press release, the institute called for heightened transparency from the EC in order to uphold the democratic integrity of the country.<\/p>\n

The FMI urged the NDC and the public to remain calm as the EC addresses the concerns regarding discrepancies in the voters\u2019 register.<\/p>\n

PRESS RELEASE: FRIMPONG-MANSO INSTITUTE CALLS FOR CALM AND TRANSPARENCY AHEAD OF ELECTION 2024<\/p>\n

As campaigning for Election 2024 intensifies with leading presidential candidates submitting their nominations, tensions have risen over the NDC’s concerns regarding the accuracy of the voters\u2019 register. The NDC has announced plans to stage protests against the EC across the nation.<\/p>\n

The NDC is perfectly right to ventilate its objections to aspects of the election process, and even demonstrate to demand redress of their legitimate grievances.
\nWhile urging the EC to give a listening ear to genuine grievances and reasonable proposals tailored to purify the election process, the Frimpong Manso Institute passionately appeals to the NDC not to overstep the boundaries of their demands and protests.
\nIndeed, there is an urgent need to build strong bridges of trust between the EC and the political parties to ensure peaceful, free, fair, transparent and credible elections whose outcome will be acceptable to all sides.
