The 2nd General Assembly of the Conference of Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures (CoSPAL) concluded on October 27, 2024, in Accra, Ghana, with Ghana\u2019s Speaker of Parliament re-elected as Chair.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Known for his dedication to democratic principles and parliamentary reform, his re-election underscores broad support for his leadership as African legislative heads gathered to advance strategic priorities for the continent.<\/p>\n

During the two-day assembly, delegates adopted a new CoSPAL constitution and elected leadership positions.<\/p>\n

Ghana\u2019s Speaker, respected for his extensive experience and commitment to legislative integrity, will continue as Chair, joined by five regional Vice-Chairs and a Secretary-General.<\/p>\n

On the second day, discussions focused on updates to the CoSPAL Secretariat, the Host Country Agreement, and administrative issues like membership subscriptions.<\/p>\n
