{"id":18196,"date":"2024-10-30T04:08:09","date_gmt":"2024-10-30T04:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=18196"},"modified":"2024-10-30T04:08:09","modified_gmt":"2024-10-30T04:08:09","slug":"pnafrica-partners-ghanas-parliament-to-organizes-open-parliament-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=18196","title":{"rendered":"PNAfrica partners Ghana\u2019s Parliament to Organizes Open Parliament Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In an innovative initiative to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, the Parliament of Ghana has partnered with the Parliamentary Network Africa (PNAfrica) to host the first-ever \u201cOpen Parliament Week.\u201d Scheduled for three days in October 2024, this event coincides with the Parliament\u2019s current session.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 29, PNAfrica said the Open Parliament Week is part of a global movement aimed at strengthening the relationship between parliaments and citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The Parliament of Ghana seeks to empower citizens by providing insights into the legislative process and the work of their representatives.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative, it added, is designed to educate the public about parliamentary functions, the roles and responsibilities of Members of Parliament, and the various services offered by the institution, fostering trust and reinforcing Ghana\u2019s commitment to open government principles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlights of Open Parliament Week:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event will kick off with an opening session and exhibition, featuring remarks from the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K.
