President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. James Klutse Avedzi as the new Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), effective immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This development comes after the termination of Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh’s appointment as SEC boss \u00b9.<\/p>\n

Dr. Avedzi, a former Chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.<\/p>\n

His appointment was communicated through an official letter from the Office of the President, signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama \u00b2.<\/p>\n

As part of the transition, Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been directed to hand over his responsibilities to Dr. Avedzi, who will oversee the Commission’s operations in the interim.<\/p>\n

Although the reasons behind Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh’s termination were not disclosed, industry stakeholders are optimistic about Dr. Avedzi’s ability to lead the SEC effectively \u00b9.<\/p>\n

Dr. Avedzi’s priorities are expected to include maintaining stability in Ghana’s capital markets, reassuring market participants, and promoting sustainable investment practices.<\/p>\n

His leadership comes at a critical time, as Ghana seeks to deepen its financial markets and attract more investment.<\/p>\n
