A delegation of investors from the Kingdom of Morocco, led by the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Mrs. Imane Quaadil, paid a courtesy visit to the Majority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, on Monday, February 24, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Moroccan business delegation, representing various sectors such as food retail, mining, telecommunications, banking, and renewable energy, expressed their interest in exploring investment opportunities in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of Anmeta, one of Africa’s largest holding companies, the delegation outlined their vision for strengthening South-South collaboration and contributing to Africa’s economic growth.<\/p>\n

Several key representatives of Moroccan companies introduced themselves, including Yassine Marcille, representing Marjan Company in the food retail industry; Mohamed Seguin from Marjan’s mining sector; Faisal Khiar from INU, a major telecommunications provider; and Nabil Kadiri from Tijani Wafa Bank, which operates across 14 African countries.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The group also included Maudi Ababir, who is working on establishing a Ghana-Moroccan Business Council to spearhead business initiatives between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Imane Quaadil expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering deeper business relationships with Ghana.<\/p>\n

She also emphasized their desire to collaborate with Ghana’s government and business sectors to address economic challenges and unlock potential growth opportunities.<\/p>\n

Hon. Ayariga, expressed appreciation for the strengthening ties between Ghana and Morocco and shared his personal connection with Morocco, recalling his participation in an international moot court competition in Oujda over two decades ago.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted his subsequent visits to the country, particularly his recent engagement with Morocco during discussions about its potential membership in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).<\/p>\n

Hon. Ayariga emphasized Ghana\u2019s positive outlook on fostering stronger business relationships with Morocco and other African nations.<\/p>\n

He outlined the structure of Ghana\u2019s Parliament and government, mentioning the cooperation between the legislature, executive, and judiciary, as well as Ghana’s efforts to create an enabling environment for business growth.<\/p>\n

The Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in parliament assured the Moroccan investors of Parliament\u2019s continued support in facilitating investment, emphasizing the importance of foreign investment in driving economic growth, job creation, and the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which he believes will create a seamless market for businesses across the continent.<\/p>\n

Hon. Ayariga reiterated that Ghana remains open to investment, particularly from African partners, and assured the Moroccan delegation that they would have full support in pursuing their ventures within the country.<\/p>\n
