Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has expressed renewed optimism for Ghana\u2019s future following President John Dramani Mahama\u2019s recent State of the Nation Address (SONA). <\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking after the president\u2019s address, his first in his second term, Ayariga acknowledged the nation’s current economic challenges but highlighted the sense of hope that Mahama’s speech has inspired.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Speaker, the state of our economy and the situation in our country is unfortunate and concerning. However, His Excellency the President has brought us hope,\u201d Ayariga stated.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the president\u2019s address resonated strongly with a wide range of groups, including the youth, women, Okada riders, the private sector, students, and everyday Ghanaians. Ayariga attributed the broad support for Mahama\u2019s leadership to the trust the people place in his vision for the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that everything laid out in the president\u2019s speech offers hope, and this House is committed to supporting His Excellency in delivering on his promises,\u201d Ayariga affirmed.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of accountability, calling for those responsible for the country\u2019s economic difficulties to be held accountable.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrucially, this House will support the President\u2019s commitment to accountability. Those who have harmed our economy must face the consequences,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n
