{"id":20460,"date":"2025-05-14T11:10:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T11:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=20460"},"modified":"2025-05-14T11:21:21","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T11:21:21","slug":"algeria-to-host-shelter-afrique-development-banks-44th-agm-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=20460","title":{"rendered":"Algeria to Host Shelter Afrique Development Bank\u2019s 44th AGM in July"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Algeria is set to host Shelter Afrique Development Bank\u2019s (ShafDB) 44th\u00a0Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Housing Symposium in July 2025, the Bank has disclosed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The high-level event, set to take place in Algiers from 15th\u00a0to 17th\u00a0July 2025\u00a0at Hotel El Aurassi in Algiers, Algers,\u00a0will bring together key stakeholders, policymakers, investors, and development finance leaders to discuss strategies for advancing affordable housing and sustainable urban development across Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The AGM, which will convene under the theme:\u00a0\u201cHousing Sector Financial Sustainability Amid Global Turbulence: Opportunities and Challenges\u201d,\u00a0will\u00a0bring together\u00a0Ministers of Housing and Finance from member States, shareholders, central banks, mayors, private developers, investors, and development finance partners to explore ways of transforming the promise of urban Africa into tangible, inclusive progress.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting will provide a platform to review ShafDB\u2019s performance, assess progress in its strategic initiatives, and formulate policies that will shape the institution\u2019s role in addressing Africa\u2019s housing and infrastructure challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the upcoming AGM, Shelter Afrique Development Bank\u2019s Managing Director &amp; CEO, Thierno-Habib Hann, expressed his enthusiasm about the selection of Algeria as the host country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate our member countries for their continued commitment to affordable housing and urban development across Africa. Algeria\u2019s role in hosting the Extraordinary General Meeting in 2023\u2014where Shelter Afrique was transformed into a Development Bank\u2014and now the 44th AGM in Algiers, reflects the collective momentum and shared vision of our members. The 44th\u00a0AGM in Algiers is expected to yield critical resolutions that will guide the institution\u2019s strategic direction in the years ahead,\u201d Mr. Hann quipped.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1981 in Lusaka, Zambia, Shelter Afrique Development Bank (ShafDB) is a Pan-African Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) dedicated to promoting and financing sustainable green housing, urban development and related infrastructure.
