Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has returned home after a successful medical trip to London, United Kingdom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her flight touched down at the Kotoka International Airport on Thursday afternoon, marking the end of her brief period of medical attention abroad.<\/p>\n

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who departed Ghana several weeks ago for specialized medical care, appeared in good spirits and excellent health as she stepped off the aircraft.<\/p>\n

She was warmly received by a high-powered delegation led by President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and the Vice President\u2019s Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia.<\/p>\n

Also present were senior government officials, close family members, and religious leaders, including the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a dignified yet modest outfit, the Vice President smiled and waved to a small crowd that had gathered to welcome her.<\/p>\n

In a brief interaction with the media, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ghanaian people for their support and prayers during her time away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply grateful to every Ghanaian who kept me in their thoughts and prayers. The love and concern I felt from home were overwhelming and truly uplifting,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also extended her appreciation to her medical team in the UK for their professionalism, as well as the team at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for their prior care and collaboration.<\/p>\n

She singled out President Mahama and his brother, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, for their unwavering support throughout her medical journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Mahama and Ibrahim have shown immense thoughtfulness and care during this period, and I cannot thank them enough,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the Vice President confirm that she underwent a minor but necessary procedure and is now fully recovered. Her return is expected to energize the ruling party\u2019s preparations toward the upcoming campaign season, with Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expected to resume her official duties immediately.<\/p>\n

Political analysts suggest her return could reinforce confidence in the NDC leadership ahead of the December elections, especially as she remains a key figure in the party’s grassroots mobilization and gender empowerment agenda.<\/p>\n
