The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has commended the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, stating that it accurately reflects the daily lives and experiences of Ghanaians.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking in Parliament after the presentation by the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Hon. Naa Momo noted that the detailed and people-centric nature of the budget demonstrates the government\u2019s commitment to addressing real issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way the Finance Minister presented the budget, you could see it was comprehensive and touched on almost every sector. It wasn\u2019t just a document\u2014it reflected what people are experiencing in their everyday lives. It highlighted both our challenges and our progress,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She further emphasized that the budget was more than an assessment\u2014it offered clear pathways for resolving ongoing issues and called for a shared national commitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, it wasn\u2019t just about stating what the risks are. It was also about outlining the way forward. The call for sacrifice is something we all must heed, because we\u2019ve all contributed to where we are today,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Hon. Naa Momo also praised Dr. Forson\u2019s acknowledgment of the efforts and patience of Ghanaians, stressing that the budget showcased collective progress under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.<\/p>\n

The Gender Minister also condemned the Minority for staging a walk out when the Minister for Finance was billed to present the Budget Review, saying,” it was a completely unpatriotic decision on the part of the Minority.”<\/p>\n

Gov\u2019t to Rehabilitate 5,000km of Roads across 166 Constituencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson announced an ambitious plan to rehabilitate 5,000 kilometres of roads across 166 constituencies identified as having critical infrastructure needs.<\/p>\n

Presenting the review in Parliament on Thursday, July 24, Dr. Forson revealed that the government would rehabilitate 10 kilometres of roads annually in each of the selected constituencies over the next three years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government has identified 166 constituencies in dire need of road infrastructure. In response, we have programmed to rehabilitate 10km of roads annually in each of these constituencies,\u201d Dr. Forson stated.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to improve connectivity, enhance economic activities, and boost access to social services across the country. According to the Finance Minister, this initiative is a key step toward achieving equitable infrastructure development nationwide.<\/p>\n
