In consonance with Article 74 (1) of the Constitution, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, 4th September, 2025, commissioned eighteen (18) newly appointed Envoys of Ghana at a swearing-in ceremony held at Jubilee House, Accra.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  2. Mr. Victor Emmanuel Smith, Ambassador-designate to the United States of America<\/li>\n
  3. Ms. Mavis Ama Frimpong, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of France<\/li>\n
  4. Mr. Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, High Commissioner-designate to the Federal Republic of Nigeria<\/li>\n
  5. Mr. Koma-Steem Jehu Appiah, Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation<\/li>\n
  6. Mr. Kojo Bonsu, Ambassador-designate to the People\u2019s Republic of China<\/li>\n
  7. Alhaji Hammed Rashid Tunde Alive, Ambassador-designate to the United Arab Emirates<\/li>\n
  8. Prof. Ohene Adjei, Ambassador-designate to the Federal Republic of Germany<\/li>\n
  9. Alhaji Abdul Nasiru-Deen, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye<\/li>\n
  10. Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere, Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Denmark<\/li>\n
  11. Mr. Labik Joseph Yaani, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea<\/li>\n
  12. Nii Amasah Namoale, Ambassador-designate to the Federative Republic of Brazil<\/li>\n
  13. Prof. Kwasi Obiri Danso, High Commissioner-designate to India<\/li>\n
  14. His Excellency Samuel Yao Kumah, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York<\/li>\n
  15. Mr. Godwin Baletum Amonzem, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Liberia<\/li>\n

    Addressing the Envoys, His Excellency the President indicated that their appointment is a mark of confidence reposed in them for the years of dedicated service rendered to the country in various capacities. He urged them to uphold accountability in their leadership to contribute to national priorities. Emphasizing the need for sound administration, he highlighted the role of integrity and admonished the Envoys on the prudent use of public resources.<\/p>\n

    He stressed that the Reset Agenda is to restore hope for inclusivity and urged them to forge strategic partnerships which will contribute to the development of the country. He mentioned that as vanguards of Ghana\u2019s economic diplomacy, the Envoys have responsibility to strengthen bilateral ties and to promote trade and investment.<\/p>\n

    On behalf of the newly appointed Envoys, Mr. Victor Emmanuel Smith, Ambassador-designate to the United States of America expressed appreciation to His Excellency the President for the confidence and trust reposed in them and assured that they would adhere to the ideals of diplomacy in the discharge of their duties in their countries of accreditation. In addition, he pledged that the Envoys would put Ghana first in their mandates to promote development for a better future.<\/p>\n

    Present at the ceremony were the Chief of Staff, Honourable Julius Debrah, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP), Special Aide to o the President, Madam Joyce Bawah Mogtari, National Chief Imam, Sheik Osuman Nuhu Sharubutu, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, among others.<\/p>\n
