The Member of Parliament for Sene West, Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, has reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to empowering the youth through sports, particularly football, as a means of unlocking their talents and improving livelihoods<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the years, the MP\u2019s consistent support for sports<\/strong> development in the constituency has contributed to the emergence of several players who now feature in national teams, the Ghana Premier League, and various Division One clubs across the country.<\/p>\n

Hon. Ampofo Twumasi\u2019s journey in sports development dates back to 2005, when he organised his maiden mega football tournament in the then Sene District.<\/p>\n

The tournament, which was the biggest football event ever held in the area at the time, significantly boosted interest and participation in football across the district.<\/p>\n

Since then, the MP has continuously supported individual players and football teams throughout the constituency with jerseys, footballs, and financial assistance on an annual basis.<\/p>\n

Beneficiary teams and events include Sene Hot Spurs, the Lemu Christmas Gala, and several other community football activities.<\/p>\n

In December 2024, Hon. Ampofo Twumasi organised an inter-zonal football gala in honour of the National Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Yusif Abudulai, in recognition of his efforts to raise the image of the Sene West Constituency.<\/p>\n

At the tournament, participating teams received jerseys, while the eventual winners were awarded a cash prize of GHS 2,000, a trophy, footballs, and jerseys.<\/p>\n

The second-placed team received GHS 1,500, footballs, and jerseys. The third and fourth teams were also rewarded with GHS 1,000 and GHS 500 respectively, along with footballs and sets of jerseys.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the grand finale of the honorary tournament, the MP urged residents to use football as a tool for unity and personal development.<\/p>\n

He noted that football, when taken seriously and supported with the right opportunities, can serve as a viable career path capable of transforming lives, communities, and the nation at large.<\/p>\n

He cited renowned footballers such as Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari, and Mohammed Kudus as examples of players who have contributed significantly to national development and community upliftment through football.<\/p>\n

Currently, Sene West has produced both national and local football talents. Notably, the captain of Ghana\u2019s Under-17 national team, Joseph Narbi, hails from Sene West.<\/p>\n

Other players from the constituency include Andrews Kumah of Techiman Eleven Wonders, Joseph Narbi of Benab FC (U-17 national team captain), Angel of Benab FC, John of Benab FC, Festus of Benab FC, Israel Opoku of Noah FC in Armenia, and Amo Kwasi Eric Kotoku of The Royals.<\/p>\n
