{"id":2848,"date":"2021-12-04T07:12:33","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T07:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=2848"},"modified":"2021-12-04T10:04:16","modified_gmt":"2021-12-04T10:04:16","slug":"2022-wcq-fifa-dismisses-sa-complains-against-ghanas-playoff-qualification-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=2848","title":{"rendered":"2022 WCQ: FIFA dismisses SA complains against Ghana\u2019s playoff qualification goal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has reaffirmed Ghana&#8217;s qualification to the playoffs stages of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This comes after FIFA on Friday dismissed South African Football Association (SAFA) appeal to have the match against Ghana replayed at a neutral venue.<br>SAFA last month lodged a protest to have the last Group G match against Ghana replayed after the Black Stars edged them for the only qualification spot after a 1-0 victory at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.<br>According to SAFA, Senegalese referee Maguatte Ndiaye made some dubious decisions in favour of Ghana especially with the penalty awarded to the Black Stars, but FIFA has quashed their protest.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.21279575.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.21279575.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.21279575-600x338.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.21279575-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.21279575-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>BLACK STARS<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A statement from FIFA said: \u201cThe protest lodged by South Africa has been declared inadmissible by the Disciplinary Committee as it did not meet the requirements foreseen under art. 46 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 14 of the Regulations of the Preliminary Competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022.<br>The decision is subject to appeal,\u201d it declared.<br>The Black Stars await their opponents for the playoffs which are scheduled for March 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/DEDE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/DEDE.jpg 800w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/DEDE-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/DEDE-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/DEDE-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>BLACK STARS BEAT SA BAFANABAFANA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has reaffirmed Ghana&#8217;s qualification to the playoffs stages of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
