With the determination to address the health needs of her constituents, the Member of Parliament for Tempane, Hon Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has summoned the Minister to parliament to explain why the Agenda 111 project after sod cutting in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, in August 2021, the government cut sod for the construction of the Tempane District Hospital to enhance access to quality healthcare for the people of Tempane and its environs, but the project has since not been executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon Lamisi made this known when she dragged the Health Minister to Parliament on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, for the Minister to explain when the project would be completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Speaker, I rise to ask the Minister for Health when the construction of the Tempane District Hospital will commence.?, the lawmaker queried the Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the sector Minister Hon Kweku Agyeman-Manu admitted that the Project is part of Agenda 111, \u00a0and a sod cut was made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said explained that preparatory works for the commencement of the project have been completed pending zonal consultation whilst Contractors also finalizing mobilization to move to site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Speaker, Tempane District Hospital has also been planned under Agenda 111. To herald the commencement of works on the Agenda 111 project, sod was cut on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region for works to begin on all district hospitals including Tempane under Agenda 111.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0\u201cAll preparatory works towards the commencement of works have been completed. Currently, zonal consultants and contractors are finalizing mobilization activities to site for works to commence shortly, by the end of November 2021,\u201d the Minister explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Hon Lamisi told EXPRESSNEWSGHANA<\/em>,<\/strong> she was not satisfied with the Minister\u2019s answers on grounds that, the project sod-cutting took place in mid-2021, but to date, nothing is ongoing on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She, therefore, called on the government through the Minister of Health to expedite action on the project for the project which she noted is dear to her and the good people of Tempane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MP said besides the daily health needs of the people, it would help reduce the cost of healthcare as many have to trek to neigouring Districts to access healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
