The Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has charged the government through the Ministry of Roads and Highways to expedite action on some major roads projects that work had been stalled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, the bad nature of the roads is affecting economic activities in the Constituency as comuters spends long hours in attempt to meander their ways through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon Naa Momo made the call when she dragged the sector Minister, Kwesi Amoako-Atta to parliament to explain when the affected roads project would be fixed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Mr Speaker, I rise to ask the Minister for Roads and Highways when construction of the following roads will be completed, Alemawor road, Gafer road, Klosa- Ataa and Odametey Roads? ” the MP quizzed the Minister.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the sector Minister, Hon Kwesi Amoako-Atta said the 85 km road is in
Greater Accra Region, with Alemawor Road and Gafer Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, the projects are part of the project titled “Design and Construction of Arterial Roads and Critical Local Road Development in Teshie-Nungua, Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

” The Commercial agreement was approved by Parliament on 7th November, 2020. The works will commence as soon as all the conditions precedent in the commercial agreement are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Klosai – Ataa Odametey Road, Hon Amoako-Atta said there is no ongoing program for the for mention roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he said engineering design studies and condition survey would be conducted on the road to determine the appropriate upgrading intervention and for consideration in the 2023 budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


But Hon Naa Momo said the bad nature of the roads need special upgrading to make them.motorable to reduce traffic hours as well as minimise health condition that residents faces as a result of dust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
