{"id":8597,"date":"2022-10-01T15:53:39","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T15:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=8597"},"modified":"2022-10-01T19:20:11","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T19:20:11","slug":"incompetent-ecg-managers-put-us-in-distress-prepaid-meter-customers-laments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/?p=8597","title":{"rendered":"ECG put us in Distress-Prepaid meter Customers laments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited have attributed the latest difficulties of purchasing credit for their prepared meters to incompetence and poor management on the part of managers of the company.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to some of the customers, their inability to purchase credit for their prepared meters is beyond technical problems and the matter was a result of blind copies of technical systems without the requisite experts.<\/p>\n<p>They wondered how a network problem with regards to those using prepared meters would last for days, simply because the network is not working.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Electricity Company of Ghana in a press statement recently claimed a\u00a0technical challenge\u00a0has affected its prepaid\u00a0metering systems.<\/p>\n<p>The Company said this has interrupted the purchase of electricity credit, especially for customers using the newest prepared meters.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8599\" src=\"https:\/\/expressnewsghana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/download-50.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It said customers in Volta,\u00a0Kumasi,\u00a0Accra,\u00a0Takoradi,\u00a0Tema,\u00a0Cape\u00a0Coast,\u00a0Kasoa, Winneba,\u00a0Swedru,\u00a0Koforidua,\u00a0Nkawkaw,\u00a0and\u00a0Tafo have been affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAffected customers should please note that our ICT team is working assiduously to correct the anomaly and restore the system to normalcy. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this technical challenge,\u201d the ECG said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>But some customers who visited the Dodowa District to purchase their credit expressed their frustration and disappointment on grounds that, for days now the ECG is still unable to resolve an issue the company said was a technical problem.<\/p>\n<p>Some said their frustration was a result of the fact that they have the money to buy power but could not because the system is junked and management is doing little to solve the issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we are going through these challenges because of the inexperience, poor skills, and incompetent persons being employed to manage the ECG.
