The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Abednego F.O. Amartey has said that the University graduate programmes bridges the gap between academia and indust<\/strong>ry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, the gesture is evident in the programmes the university offers and as a result the move have been demonstrated in disciplines such as, PhD in Marketing, Master of Arts in Peace, Security and Intelligence Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Organisational Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is against these background that the University have made history for the graduation of its first batch of its Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing, Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Organisational Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the year 2021\/2022 academic year, UPSA have witnessed the graduation of 4,360 comprising 18 Postgraduate Diploma students, 951 Masters Students and 9 PhD students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Abednego Amartey was speaking at the fifth session of the 14th<\/sup> Congregation for the faculty of Management studies at UPSA in Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that teaching and learning during the 2021\/2022 academic year was delivered through blended mode for both postgraduate and undergraduate students and added further that the end of semester examinations were also administered in the blended mode but with a greater percentage of about 95% being in person sittings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throwing more light on new academic programmes, Prof. Amartey said the Ghana Technical Education Commission (GTEC) have approved Doctor of Philosophy in International Security and Intelligence, MA in Media and Digital Communication Management and MPhil in Media and Digital Communication Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the introduction of new academic programmes, the Vice Chancellor said the University have received an accreditation for the introduction of the Master of Philosophy in Accounting, Master of Business Administration in Corporate Communication and Doctor of Philosophy in Account programmes in the 2022\/2023 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAdmission to enrol the first batch of students on to these programmes have been completed as academic work in these regard have commenced\u201d, he hinted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI urged all graduates to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the World of Works (WoWs) and other fields of endeavours to embrace the challenges that come along with career development\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
